The Hawke's Bay is on the East Coast of the North
Island. It is 332 kilometres (about four hours) north-east Wellington
City.
it is known for it's sunny, Mediterranean-style
climate,and is one of New Zealand's warmest, driest regions.
The landscapes of area begins with the high, forested
Ruahine and Kaweka Ranges. From these mountains, the land steps
down towards the coast, flattening out to become the Heretaunga
Plains. A number of wide rivers run swiftly to the Pacific Ocean.
The twin cities of Napier and Hastings are the
main population centres.
