studying in new zealand

new zealand high schools

There are many New Zealand secondary schools that welcome international students. They have programmes in place to make your learning experience as enjoyable and beneficial as possible. The most recommended age to come to study in a New Zealand secondary school is when a student is between 15 and 18 years of age. Students of this age group will be enrolled in one of the three senior years based on their age, academic levels and English competence. In the final year of secondary school, ( students are approximately 18 years of age), they can study in preparation for the nationally recognised university entrance examinations.

Secondary schools are an excellent place for students to learn English, not only because you will have English speaking friends, but also because schools have English language classes to help international students with their English progress. With the right amount of study, international students should gain a fluent knowledge of English, and with a good examination result are able to proceed to university.

School fees for international students are approximately $10,000 per year.
